Living Your Path

Now is the time to become an active part of the change you wish to see in the world!
Merry meet to all and welcome to our new blog! I’m looking forward to using this space as a special place to share some thoughts and teachings from the Sacred Mists Tradition with you all and as way to lend some guidance and perspective for those that may not be part of our Sacred Mists family as of yet. I hope you all enjoy this journey with us.

As we enter into the new year, we have bid farewell to the first decade of the new millennium and ushered in the next. This year feels exciting, new, energetically charged with abundance and creativity. I’m very excited for 2010 and can feel so many wonderful things looming on our collective horizon!

In numerology, we are in a 3 year, of which are optimism, empowerment, leadership and evolution. This is the perfect year to communicate out to the world in a gentle and nurturing way. The vibration of this year helps us open up to the incoming and outpouring messages of growth. Now is the time to become an active part of the change you wish to see in the world!

One area of focus that we will be working on throughout the year within Sacred Mists is LIVING THE PATH. All of us can read and learn facts as well as anyone can, regardless of spiritual persuasion. However, this is not what being spiritual is. It is, in fact, everything that being spiritual is not. Spirituality is not simply in your head. It is not a foundation of knowledge and a system of belief that you align with as being correct. Spirituality is a daily embodiment of your practice and path in order to deepen your connection with your faith and strengthen your ability to connect with that faith so that you can manifest the changes in yourself and your life, as well as those around you through teaching what you have intimately learned through extensive practice, so that you will continue to evolve on the spiritual plane through the process of life, death and rebirth. The ultimate goal is learning lessons that we are to learn in order to reach a place of ultimate knowledge. Thusly, we become deity. This cannot, and will not, happen unless you employ a daily practice of meditation, personal ritual, and reflection. This is the year that we, as a circle and coven, make a collective goal of deepening our personal spiritual connection by developing one through daily practice. Even if you aren’t part of our coven, I invite you bring this concept and dedication to your own spiritual path into your life for this new year. Are you up to it?

Now onto a personal update. My holiday was wonderful. I was able to spend time with family and friends, share gifts with loved ones, eat way too much food and treats, and take some much needed relaxation time for myself. I was able to devour several books, one of which I would like to share with you all. It is called “Becoming Enlightened” by HH Dalai Lama. It is absolutely amazing! The thoughts on different meditation practices was so well delivered in the book that I feel inspired within my own practices to really explore them and see how my own can be enhanced. I am a lover of religious practice, no matter what that religion is. I believe that religion in its PURE form, in as much as it is not tainted by human interference and the insertion of manipulative human interpretation, is absolutely beautiful and we can learn much by studying them in depth. I bring back what feels right and leave behind what doesn’t. I ask questions, allow myself to explore my own system of belief through the looking glass of another, and always find myself feeling ever more embracing of the path that I have chosen for myself – Wicca.

I truly hope that you all have had a wonderful holiday and I am looking forward to sharing the excitement and wonder of the coming year with you. We have much in store for all of you!
